The diseases and the death have large importance in order to the invention of images and stereotypes. The Castilian king Enrique III el doliente (1390-1406) stablishes a veritable paradigm. His delicate health —subject of various speculations—, his early and exemplary death and the good memory transmited to the posterity (rightful ruler, fervent Christian, austere administrator) have founded about the king a historical and literary myth.
