This paper studies the situation of the Catholic Church during the Guatemala Revolutionary Decade. The Constitution of 1945 sanctions again the legal discrimination tie Church suffered since 1871's Liberal Revolution. But the governmental action increased the opposition of a large number of people participant in the last Revolution. This people see, then, the Church as a virtual aUy. Therefore, in 1954, the Church meets a way to change the law. With this intention, excused the contrarevolutionary movement. But, at the same time, tried to appoint difference as regards new Government.
