Abstract

After the surrender of Trebisond to the Turks (1461), the byzantine humanist George Amirutzes of Trebisond stayed at the court of Mehmed II sultan. There he had the sultan got into theological conversation, that later Amirutzes edited as De fide oder Philosophus. The proemium at this dialogue contain, in our view, a coexistence message between the Byzantines and Turks. Moreover, in this paper we explain Amirutze's diplomatic and phisolophical development and his collaboration in the Islam.
