The chapel music at the colegiata of Santa María la Mayor in Talavera de la Reina

This article focuses on the recovery of the historical legacy of the music chapel at the the church of Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), a subject that until now had not been studied by Spanish musicology. To understand better the rôle played by sacred music in Talavera, we’ll take in account the composition of its music chapel, the liturgic organization of the religious festivities and the functions of the different members of the music chapel, such as the chapel master, the organist, the boys choir or the minstrels.
