Study of the emigration of Basque priests to the dioceses of Río de la Plata. Between 1890 and 1915 102 secular priests arrived, with an average of stay of 16 years. Contrary to other priests emigrants, specially the Italians, the Basoues were good pastoral elements without causing complaints. The relations between the local hierarchy and the émigrés, the reasons to emigrate and the expectations of both parts are analyzed.
