This article deals with the vicissitudes that three writers from Toledo who created in different matters, should overcome when printing their works. Juan of Mariana, Alonso of Villegas and Francisco from Pisa acted in a very different way when publishing their works. They opted to publish them directly or to encharge that work to another person who established an agreement with the printer on the conditions in wich the work would be printed. The author obtained in enchange a number of copies that either he gave to his friendships or he sold a merchant of books.
