Abstract

The article offers a sociological, institutional, and doctrinal approach to the Work of Merciful Love (AOM) in Spain in the 1920s. The AOM was a devocional associative movement of French origin, which achieved a remarkable extension in Spain especially in the 1930s; however, until now it has received little attention on the part of scholars. The OAM, impelled among others by the Dominican Juan González Arintero, aspired to become a ferment of renovation and unity for all the Catholic associative movement of the time.
