Lorenzo Hervás y Panduro, Comparative Philology, expelled Jesuits. Italy, Charles IIIAbstract
«The expelled Jesuit Lorenzo Hervás y Panduro, the father of Comparative Philology, got in touch with many of his fellows of the religious order to get information to prepare his linguistic works. As a result of these contacts, and as a gratitude to them, he wrote "the Jesuit-Spanish Library (1759-1799) » and so achieved a certain leadership over the expelled Jesuits. This article summarises and analyses the literary works of the nearly five hundred Jesuits reported in the «Jesuit-Spanish Library».
