Abstract

This piece of work tries to clarify who is who in the Modem Age Church and explain the origin surrounding the patronage figure. The evolution of the patronage from the Middle Ages gave the monarchy the control of the ecclesiastic hierarchy and is one of the main points that formed Spain as a nation. In the beneficial system that consolidates as of the Trent, clergymen coexist with total rights over their mass with others, that have been founded and endowed by individuals which generates a parallel ecclesiastic body that escaped the bishops control, and answers to family interests.
