Abstract

The work displays the first results of an under way research about the religious books published in Spain between 1900 and 1930. The Catálogo general de la librería española e hispanoamericana (1901-1930) has been taken as a source in order to settle a corpus of the spiritual-religious literature in this period, that includes more than 2.500 different titles. A first quantitative study from this bibliographical whole has been carried out. The analyzed subjects are: chronological evolution of the publishing production, geographical distribution, authors, genres and topics, translations and, finally, material features of the books and their prices.
