Abstract

Last years of the nineteenth century the catholic press is going to use a great number of strategies to avoid one more expulsion, the Church is putting up with in the modem society. Science is the new arena (before was, however. Politic or Education), where the ecclesiastical supremacy is now out of place due to Positivism. According to the above said matter the diary of Seville El Correo de Andalucía exerts itself to discover the true scientific knowledge against the huge material and technical progress. Based on the mentioned idea, the article will show us an analysis about how the catholic oratory discredits the wrong liberal science in its diaries and reviews, at the same time that it promotes the Neo-Thomism, regarding to the intentions of Pope León XIII to establish a sacred meaning for the reasoning, that is more and more independent from God.
