Abstract

The fifth century presbyter Eutropius, ecclesiastical writer probably native of Hispania or Aquitaine, was a paradigmatic example of how Late Antique patristic literature linked the ascetic ideal with the anti-Jewish polemics. His spiritual interpretation of the «true circumcision> as a kind of fuga mundi demands, at the same time, an absolute repulse of the Jewish circumcision and any Judaizing influences.
